Take A Breath

Relax & restore: A wellbeing sound journey

Facilitated by The Sound Priestess

Sat 10th December / 16:00 - 17:30 (UK Time)
In person workshop at Studio Somewhere, Tramway, Glasgow, G41 2PE

Take A Breath is a series of wellbeing sessions, created as an opportunity for pause, generosity and community cohesion, where artists can come together in experiences that centre their wellbeing and sit outside of the creation process. In this first iteration we offer free experiences that cover notions of restoration, relaxation and retreat.

Relax & restore: A wellbeing sound journey

Let yourself be immersed in the sonic waves.

A sound bath/journey is an auditory experience that takes you to deep states of relaxation - a kind of a brain massage really. All you'll need to do is to lie down, close your eyes and let the current of sound carry you away.

The session will start with some gentle movement and breathing to relax the body, then a lie down guided meditation to help you settle down, followed by the sound journey. This will be  performed on the mighty 36" Pluto gong. It will also incorporate voice, singing bowls and other soothing instruments to take you on a journey to the other side of consciousness. There will be a moment of silence at the end and you will be gently brought back to here and now - refreshed and relaxed.

How to prepare:

  • Bring a yoga mat, cushions/blankets and anything else to make you warm and cosy

  • Wear comfortable and warm clothes

  • Have a snack but don’t eat anything too heavy until after the session

  • We will observe the noble silence so please as you come in switch off your phone and try not to chat

The spaces are limited so please book early to avoid disappointment.
