Studio Somewhere (Somewhere New!)
We’re so excited to announce that Studio Somewhere will re-open next year in a new corner of the city: Centre for Contemporary Arts (CCA) Glasgow!
Watch this space for more information on the new studio as well as our further Studio Somewhere programme in January! We can’t wait to show you around.
In the meantime, we have issued a call out for Spring 2026 Studio Somewhere Residencies.
These residencies are for artists working in experimental performance and include time in the studio, a bursary and support from the Take Me Somewhere team. Read more about what to expect, eligibility criteria and how to apply:

SPRING 2026 STUDIO SOMEWHERE RESIDENCY CALL OUT
DEADLINE: 9th January 2026
ABOUT THE RESIDENCIES:
These residencies are for Scotland based artists, and have been created to support our mission of creating the conditions for radical performance to be created in Scotland. They sit separately to Take Me Somewhere’s Festival, although it’s not impossible that some projects may end up being presented in the October 2027 Festival programme. The residency offer includes two 30 minute support sessions with a TMS producer to support you in a way that feels appropriate, perhaps helping you to plan out your residency period, next steps of the project post-residency or suggesting partners and contexts that may be a good fit for your work.
The residency bursary includes a small fund available for each residency to invite collaborators, outside eyes or mentors into the residency.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
We will provide:
Access to the Take Me Somewhere Studio for up to 6 days (10:00 - 18:00 generally) - tech specs.
£1,530 bursary (whilst the bursary can be allocated as you wish, we have worked this out as £848 for a lead artist at SAU rate, plus an additional £682 for materials / administration / collaborators or mentors budget)
Two x 30 minute advice / strategy meetings with a TMS producer to support your development and discuss the future life of the project (please note these sessions are focused on producing or organisational mentoring, not creative feedback)
Access support costs should you require them. This will be discussed with each residency participant & we may be able to support you applying for Access to Work for more significant costs.
ELIGIBILITY:
These residencies are for artists who:
Are currently based in Scotland
May come from a variety of backgrounds across visual art/sound art, dance, music, theatre, club-performance, film-making or activism but are looking to develop a new idea or collaboration centring experimental performance
Have a track record of rigorous artistic work. This does not have to be within experimental performance, but for these residencies we are looking for artists who are able to speak about at least two artistic projects that have shown publicly (outside of an educational environment).
