Studio Somewhere

Studio Somewhere is our year-round sector support responding to artist need, providing space and helping performance makers experiment, connect with local and international peers and develop their projects and skills.

MENTORSHIP & SKILLS DEVELOPMENT

Alongside providing studio time, our wider Studio Somewhere programme has developed to include skills development and workshop activity through Take a Breath, Somewhere to Talk and Studio Somewhere Invites. It’s a year-round programme of artist support beyond the festival.

NETWORKS AND PROJECTS

We invite artists to spend time in Glasgow through our Embedded Creations strand of residencies and support Scotland-based artists to work creatively within international projects in Artist Elsewhere. We are also involved in several international projects.

SECTOR INITIATIVES

We make sector interventions through a range of initiatives and projects, aiming to realise a more equitable, healthy and diverse Scottish cultural sector.

Artist Creation Space

Our artist creation space is designed to support Scotland-based performance-makers to test out ideas and develop their projects in a comfortable, fit-for-purpose environment.

Previously located in Tramway, in 2026, we relocated our studio space to Centre for Contemporary Arts (CCA) Glasgow. Due to the closure of CCA, these plans are currently on pause while we make alternative arrangements. We’re working on next steps and will share updates as soon as we can, alongside the forthcoming programme of Studio Somewhere residencies and activity.
