By booking this workshop you are confirming that you have heritage within the Global Majority (who are from the Caribbean, African, South Asian, South East Asian, North Africa and Middle East, Latinx, First Nation and Indigenous people diasporas). Discover how astrology can guide your well-being practices. Looking specifically at Earth signs (Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn), the Moon, Venus, and the 6th house, we will evaluate the current astrology transits and the planets influence on us. This workshop gives space for BPOC (Black People and People of Colour) to reflect on their self-care rituals and activities. Sharing them through group discussions and making this astrology workshop accessible to beginners and experienced astrology enthusiasts alike.


About the facilitator: 

Zoe Lorimer is a Black-Scottish astrologer, community gardener, anti-racist trainer and writer from Edinburgh. Her work focuses on how marginalised individuals can heal and reconnect with community through creative expression and working with nature. She is currently based in the west of Scotland after 8 years of living in East Asia. Zoe uses astrology as a tool for radical self-acceptance. Utilising a combination of Hellenistic and 'Western' Modern astrology techniques to provide natal chart readings, teach a beginners astrology course and run workshops. A student of Malcolm Macqueen (Glasgow Theosophical Society), follower of Demetra George and recipient of a certificate of completion for Chris Brennan's Hellenistic Course in 2023.

Take A Breath are a series of wellbeing sessions delivered by Take Me Somewhere as part of our Studio Somewhere programme.  Take a Breath is an opportunity for pause, generosity and community cohesion, where artists can come together in experiences that centre their wellbeing and sit outside of the creation process.

HOW TO PREPARE FOR THE SESSION:

  • You may wish to wear clothing you feel comfortable moving in 

  • Bring a bottle of water, there are also water glasses and tea available in our Studio

  • You may wish to bring your own journal/paper and pen, there will also be pens/paper available.

  • Please arrive 5 minutes before the start of the session to get settled.

ACCESSIBILITY INFORMATION:

Studio Somewhere is a wheelchair accessible space on the first floor of Tramway, accessed via lift. 

  • The dance floor has a wheelchair accessible ramp across the width of the space. There is a 1.2m clear route throughout the space to access the various amenities.

  • The dance floor is slightly raised off ground level. There is ramp access from Stage front of the dance floor.

  • Tramway is a wheelchair accessible building without stepped entrances or exits. Upper floors are accessible by elevator and accessible toilets are provided on each level.

  • Accessible parking can be found the the front of tramway near the main doors. 

  • There is not currently a changing places facility onsite.
