Take A Breath are a series of wellbeing sessions delivered by Take Me Somewhere as part of our Studio Somewhere programmeTake a Breath is an opportunity for pause, generosity and community cohesion, where artists can come together in experiences that centre their wellbeing and sit outside of the creation process. In this first iteration we offer free experiences that cover notions of restoration, relaxation and retreat.

Our first edition of Take A Breath ran from December 2022 - March 2023 and we are excited to launch our 2024 programme.

ABOUT THE SESSION:

Grounding Sound Tapestry is an immersive sound tapestry session, focusing on grounding and rejuvenation facilitated by Clare Simpson, who describes grounding as ‘a simple yet potent practise, done in a variety of mindful ways.’

Clare invites you to feel the ground beneath you, notice your body, release tension and anchor in safety as she weaves a rootsy, sonic tapestry inspired by nature.

Participants will be led through a gentle breathwork practice and beautiful body scan before being led on an 60 minute journey through sound. Clare weaves drone, healing voice, field recording, Tibetan singing bowls, percussion and shamanic drum to create a sumptuous and restful experience so those attending might leave feeling rested and connected to their bodies and minds.

The workshop will end with some space for reflection and optional hot drinks.
