Three more workshops for artists this Autumn: a multi-tempo experiment with the team behind NOW NOT NOW, Tamm Reynolds on making political work without wrecking yourself, and a session with Selina Thompson Ltd on finding your compass.
NOW NOT NOW: exploring multi-temporal realities

The team behind NOW NOT NOW will invite you to take part in some of our multi-tempo experiments, where scenes happen at the same time, at different speeds, on top of each other. This is an opportunity to experience this performance mode from the inside, with clear guidance and instructions throughout. We will record this so that we can watch it back together during the session, experimenting with speed in the playback.
The workshop centres playfulness, curiosity and experimentation - suitable for artists and performers who are interested in experimenting with us from a fun and open-minded perspective.

Tamm Reynolds is an artist and drag performer, working across performance, theatre and video, most recently with a sold-out run of Shooting From Below. This workshop focuses on the cost of making work that comes out of your own life and politics. What it takes out of you, what you expect it to do, and what you actually want from it. Tamm is interested in how you keep making work that matters without signing up to be the suffering artist while you do it.

This workshop, lead by Artistic Director Selina Thompson and Associate Director Toni-Dee Paul, is an opportunity to reflect on your practice, what sustains it, the audiences you make for and the structures that hold them. The aim is to build a series of reflections on your work that keeps your practice fulfilling and rich, and is a guiding compass to bring you back to your 'whys' even when you don't know where you'll end up.
Tamm's and Selina's sessions come to us through Studio Somewhere Invites, where Scotland based artists are invited to recommend leading practitioners from across the world to deliver a workshop or talk they feel would be influential for their own development or make a positive impact on their local artist community.
