Astrology and Wellbeing with Zoe Lorimer

Zoe hosted a session on how astrology can guide well-being practices. Looking specifically at Earth signs (Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn), the Moon, Venus, and the 6th house, the workshop evaluated the current astrology transits and the planets influence on us. This workshop was a space for BPOC (Black People and People of Colour) to reflect on their self-care rituals and activities.

Celebrating the Rainbow Body with Nikhita Devi

In this session, Nikhita introduced the principles and theories of yoga and Indian Classical dance.

Participants were guided through a series of postures and meditations, with dance exercises designed to improve balance and coordination and blending aspects of Indian classical dance, bellydance and burlesque.

Grounding Sound Tapestry with Clare Simpson

Grounding Sound Tapestry was an immersive sound tapestry session, focusing on grounding and rejuvenation facilitated by Clare Simpson, who describes grounding as ‘a simple yet potent practise, done in a variety of mindful ways.’ 

Clare invited participants to to feel the ground beneath them, notice the body, release tension and anchor in safety as she weaves a rootsy, sonic tapestry inspired by nature.

Relax & restore: A wellbeing sound journey with The Sound Priestess 

This sound bath/journey was an auditory experience - a kind of a brain massage really.

The sound journey was performed on the mighty 36" Pluto gong. It incorporated voice, singing bowls and other soothing instruments with a moment of refreshing silence at the end.

BODY NEST 

with Zinzi Buchanan and Clay AD

This session created an environment where all bodies can find comfort. Offering a local retreat, where we can nest for a while and tap into our inner embers through the winter and beyond.

The session centred topics that are needed at this time of year including: warmth, comfort, drawing from stored energy and honouring darkness. Zinzi and Clay brought a large tool box of somatic and movement practices from which to draw and offer to the group.

MISERY MEDICINES

with Maymana Arefin and Misery

This workshop took place across the Hidden Gardens, introducing people to foraging, medicinal herbs and their histories of healing. Maymana gave a gentle introduction to herbs in this special edition of misery medicines in Glasgow - meditating with, learning about and making art inspired by a seasonal herb. This workshop was a space for BPOC (Black People and People of Colour) for fresh air and outdoor appreciation.
