Join Riah from Listen Gallery for a workshop exploring listening.

Together, we'll explore how we might recalibrate our senses by tuning into our own sounds. Through a series of gentle, playful sounding exercises, we'll use the voice to warm the body into listening before exploring where our sounds meet.

By listening attentively to one another and gradually introducing our own individual sounds into the space, we'll create an experience of collective songing, a collaborative practice where listening, sound and the body come together.

This workshop does not require any musical or singing experience.

Tea and refreshments provided.

About the facilitator

Riah Naief is a sound artist and runs Listen Gallery, a sound arts gallery and communal listening space in Glasgow. The theory and practice of listening is at the root of their practice. Sonic experimentation within the cultural sector is growing, evolving, and adapting in response to interaction and participation, Listen Gallery offers the context for this exploration to continue. Sound arts thus become an access point for listening as an activity, in which a shared process of education allows people to discover personal, artistic and scientific insights. Listening becomes a revolutionary act, a way to shape and change behaviours and society.

About Take A Breath
