We recognise that our work as an international arts festival has a carbon impact. Our aim is to achieve net zero emissions by 2030 - reducing our contributions to consumerism, waste, consumption and participation in inequitable systems that continue to uphold the fossil fuel industry as far as possible.

Our work is deeply concerned with addressing systems of inequity. We know that the Climate Emergency will affect people from marginalised communities the most. Over the next 5 years we intend to maximise the influence that a contemporary arts festival can have at the crucial intersection of Climate and Social justice.

For more detail please see our Climate Emergency Policy.

Travelling to the Festival

Help us to make the festival greener!

Please consider your environmental footprint when they are travelling to our events. Where you are able to, please use public transport. Doing this will help us reduce our collective carbon footprint.

Most of our venues are located near public transport routes. We’ve put together a Venue Travel Map highlighting all of our venues, with notes on the public transport routes for each.

If you can, please think about biking, walking, car sharing or jumping on public transport. We’re putting on an Audience Bus on Saturday 18th October tol pick audiences up after Lukas Avendano's Requiem at The Boardwalk and take them to Platform Easterhouse for Doris Uhlich Come Back Again.

For access details across venues, please visit our Access page, which includes links to how to access each venue via public transport.
