Movement Improvisation workshop

Olga Uzikaeva and Amble Skuse are on residency in March as part of Studio Somewhere's Spring residencies 2022.
As part of their time with us, Olga would like to invite you to join a Movement Improvisation workshop. The workshop is inspired by contemporary dance techniques, improvisation and instant composition tools, physical theatre, somatic practices, pilates, yoga, Latin American dance, experimental music and visual arts.
During this workshop, you are invited to explore your own authentic movement, to find the freedom in your body and space plus have some fun with the other passionate movers and good music.
This is an open-level, guided workshop and open to people with different kinds of dance experience. The range of exercises allow each person to work through their own energy levels and interests available to them at the moment. The class is in English (Russian & Serbian translation is available) and this is a limited capacity event.
The workshop is free, donations welcome.

About Olga Uzikaeva:
Olga Uzikaeva was born in Vladivostok, Russia and started dancing at the age of four, graduating from ballet school in Russia, then competing professionally in Latin American and Ballroom dancing for over 15 years in Russia and abroad. In 2014 she started researching contemporary dance and performance in Russia, Europe, Israel.
Olga has studied various techniques, focusing on Gaga movement language, Pilates (graduated from the Polestar Pilates Academy), Contact improvisation, Alexander technique, Feldenkrais method and Butoh. Her teaching method is a combination of tools learned and excitement to share experiences with other people and create together. Olga has been teaching dance to people of all ages since 2009.
