Studio Somewhere is our artist creation space based in Tramway, Glasgow.

Take Me Somewhere’s vision is to create the best possible conditions for exceptional, radical new performance to be made in Scotland. We do this partly through our festival but also through year-round, sector support initiatives and artist development.

The Studio is a resource for Scotland-based performance-makers to test out ideas, connect with their peers, and develop their projects in a comfortable, fit-for-purpose environment. Since 2022 we have enhanced this resource with a programme of skills development and workshop activity as well as national and international residencies and exchanges via our Residencies programme, Embedded Creations, Take a Breath and Studio Somewhere Invites . Throughout 2023, Studio Somewhere supported the development of projects for presentation within TMS Festival 2023.

Studio Hire

The space is available for hire for research, rehearsals, workshops & small events.

Cost to hire:
£400 for 3 days (£133 per day)
£ 600 per week (6 days; Monday-Saturday)

For all hire enquires & availability please email us.

Subsidised STUDIO Space

In some circumstances the Studio can be offered in-kind (free) or at a reduced cost if you request it at the point of writing fundraising applications for future projects. These opportunities are limited and projects supported are likely to feed into or connect to Take Me Somewhere festival programming.

If you have a self-funded project and for any reason are unable to pay the hire fee for rental, you may want to enquire about subsidised hire rates.

To discuss your project in the first instance please email us.

Funded Residencies

We offer funded residencies for artists working in experimental performance to explore or test out ideas. Our call out for Spring 2024 has now ended.
